Tiger junior varsity gets early lead to stand up

Rockdale leads 29-0 at halftime on four airbourne touchdowns

Rivers Rivers Dillon Goodman hauled in three touchdown passes in the first half to stake the Rockdale junior varsity to a 29-0 halftime lead en route to a 35-22 victory over Taylor Thursday night at Tiger Field.

The Tigers end the season at 3-6-1.

The Tigers were pass-happy in the first half against the Ducks as Miguel Alonzo found Stephen Ehler with a 15-yard touchdown to open the scoring.

Goodman took in the first of his three scores on the end of a nine-yard pass from Ethan Brinkley to make it 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Goodman got cranked up again in the second quarter, this time snagging a 60-yard pass from Brinkley for a 22-0 lead.

Goodman took his next catch one step better, hooking up with Excell Nelson from 61 yards away for a 29-0 lead at intermission.

After Taylor pulled within 29- 16 in the fourth quarter, Keith Rivers stemmed the tide by cutting through the Ducks from six yards for a 35-16 lead.

According to coaches, offensive standouts were Brinkley, Goodman, Jerry Vargas and Ty Kirk.

Defensively, Alonzo and Hayes were the leaders.
