Rockdale Girls Softball League meet Nov. 18
The Rockdale Girls Softball League will hold a board meeting, Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The Milam County Pavement Pacers will be participating in the Texas Independence Relay March 6-7 in Gonzales.
The TIR supports Ronald McDonald House in Houston and Austin. The team will be asking for donations towards this great cause and looking for sponsors.

SAN ANTONIO—For the first time in six years there will be no area teams at the UIL State Cross Country Championships.
None of the teams from Thorndale or Milano were able to advance from Saturday's Class A Region IV meet held at Brooks City Base.
The Thorndale Lady Dogs have been a mainstay at the state meet for the past six years but were unable to advance, finishing fifth in the overall team standings.
Zavalla, Bracketville and Mason will represent Region IV at the state meet as the top three teams, while Axtell finished fourth out of 24 teams.
Kara Niemtschk paced the Lady Dogs with an 18th place finish, while Kristen Butterworth was 23rd.
In the Class A Region IV boys race Thorndale finished 11th and Milano 18th out of 24 in the team standings. Mason, Zavalla and Port Aransas teams advanced to the state race.
The Bulldogs were passed by Tanner Thomas with a 33rd place finish, followed by Keon Mays in 34th. There were 168 runners.
Also racing for Thorndale were Pete Garcia, Colton Youngblood, Sam Richter, Aaron Laurence and Josh Vasquez.
Milano's top finishers were Ryan Karl at 44th and John Paniagua at 67th.
