FEEDING THE HUNGRY


Reporter/Mike Brown Rockdale Noon Lions Club FEEDING THE HUNGRY participated in the Milam County Lions Food Drive and netted 939 pounds of groceries for the Rockdale Christian Services food pantry. That total includes 251 pounds collected at New Hope Baptist Church and 50 pounds at St. John's United Methodist Church. Lions gathered to transport the food to the pantry last week included: (L-R) Rev. John Warren, Kelly Howell, Bill Martin, Kathy Cooke Martin, Albert Jordan, Monica Baxter, Carrie Berry, Sandy Hale and Gloria Thrasher, who also represented the food pantry. The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
