White

Graveside services for Mozelle White, 94, of Huntsville, formerly of Rockdale, were held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. John Warren of St. John's United Methodist Church officiating.

Mrs. White died Sunday, Nov. 29, in Huntsville.

A Huntsville resident for the past two years, she was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Palestine to Walter and Viola (Walston) Broughton.

She married Bernard White on Nov. 2, 1937, in Palestine.

Mrs. White was a retired Rockdale High School principal's secretary.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband on June 30, 1985; a daughter, Annice Scurlock; her parents; a brother, H.V. Broughton; and a sister, Iris Elizabeth Broughton.

Sur v ivors are a daughter, Dorothy Kyle and husband Scotty of Huntsville; a son-in-law, Bill Scurlock and wife Barbara of Rockwall; a brother, Walter LaRoy Broughton of Palestine; a sister, Naomie Nerren of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren, Shannon Murdock and husband Ben, Kenneth Kyle and wife Jennifer, all of Huntsville, Jennifer Auringer and husband Jon of Rockwall, Julie Dobiyanski and husband Stuart, and Stephen Clay Scurlock, all of Lindale; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Murdock, Nicole Auringer, Cody Dobiyanski and Clay Dobiyanski; also, several nieces and nephews.
