‘Tree of Angels’ ceremony set for Thursday

CAMERON—Milam County’s “Tree of Angels” ceremony, commemorating victims and survivors of violent crime, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bea’s Kitchen, across from the Milam County Courthouse.

This year’s tree is 12 feet high and can accommodate more than 150 ornaments in honor of crime victims and survivors.

Kathy Skubal, administrative assistant in the Milam County Prosecutor’s Office, which sponsors the annual event, said participants may bring angel ornaments tagged with the first and last name of the person to be remembered.

“But you are also welcome to attend without bringing an ornament,” she said.

Speaker will be Claudia Daniels of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Refreshments will follow.
