Reporter/ Cliff Dungan Just in the nick of time, the Rockdale Lady Tigers have shown signs of turnaround, putting together a two-game victory streak as their district ledger looms large.

The Lady Tigers trimmed Waco Reimer 39-36 Tuesday night on the road for their second straight win to imptove to 2-8 on the season.

Rockdale opens District 24-3A play at home Tuesday against rival Cameron.

Brittany Frei, Ashlee Page and Ivory Douglas all tallied 11 points in Tuesdsay night’s win.

Frei ripped down eight rebunds and Page collected seven, while Duglas passed for two assists and racked up three steals.

Gatesville Tournament

Offensive lapses prevented the Lady Tigers from making any headway in the Gatesville Tournament, losing to Axtell 22- 20 and Hubbard 79-25, but they were able to get past Waco’s Texas Christian Academy 29-13.

Wilde led Rockdale with five points, while Victoria Drake and Ivory Douglas had four apiece.

Trailing 16-11 at intermission against Axtell, Rockdale failed to put any points on the board in the third quarter, but made a strong push in the final period to come within two despite 34 turnovers.

Brittany Frei led the Lady Tigers with six points, followed by Janene Maloy’s five and Ashlee Page’s four points and 10 boards.

Against Hubbard—9 -1 and ranked No. 12 in Class A— Rockdale managed just a single point in the first and third quarters and found itself trailing 5610 heading into the final period.

Maloy led the way with seven points, followed by Wilde and Kaitlyn Sieber’s five each.
