NATURE UNDER OUR NOSES

NATURE UNDER OUR NOSES El Camino Real chapter of Texas Master Naturalists held an in-club photo contest and judges picked this entry by Paula Englehardt as best of show among the 30-plus entries. The photo is a close-up of a tiny preying mantis walking along the top of a chain-link fence. Judges liked the detail and texture and out of the ordinary subject. Judges were Gary Griesbach, Shirley Williams and Ken Cooke. El Camino Real Master Naturalists will hold a county-wide photo contest preceding their NatureFest, set for June 2010. Watch the paper for announcements.
