SERIOUS INJURIES A 76-year-old Milano woman sustained injuries including a punctured lung, a closed head wound and three broken ribs in this collision at 12:10 p.m. Friday on US 79, .2-mile east of Milano. Joann Jackson also underwent spleen surgery at Scott & White Hospital, Temple. Trooper Mark Berry said the woman pulled onto US 79 in front of an 18-wheeler driven by Eduardo Bueno, 37, of Austin, who was not hurt. Damages were termed extensive to the Jackson auto and moderate to the truck. Milano volunteer firefighters and an AMR ambulance crew responded. See page 3A.
