It was “deja vu all over again” Friday when officers raided a Hamilton Street residence, found cocaine from what they believe to be a drug-dealing operation and re-arrested a 32-year-old Rockdale man.
Reginald Wayne Rideaux had been arrested Oct. 2 at the same residence for the same crime in an identical raid involving several law enforcement agencies. Full Story
4 new appraisal district directors get certification
There’s an 80 percent turnover in the board of directors of the Milam County Appraisal District (MCAD).
The MCAD certified results of the board election this week and four of the five directors will be new.

Unemployment dips to 9.7% in Milam
Milam County’s jobless rate in November fell into single digits for the first time in seven months for the first time since April and the second time this year since Alcoa’s massive layoffs took hold late last year, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. Full Story

Tiger Hall of Honor loses two members
Young, Walton were stalwarts in girls athletics
The Rockdale Hall of Honor has lost two of its members in the past two weeks as Barbara Young Kastner and Billie Jean Walton Washington have passed away.
Kastner died Friday, Dec. 18 in Elgin at the age of 73. Despite her health issues, Kastner was present for her induction at the Hall of Honor ceremonies on Oct 23. Full Story

JARRELL—Rockdale has been a team that gained a reputation as quick starters.
Well, the Tigers get-up-andgo deserted them and they paid the price against a good team, losing to Jarrell 60-49 Friday afternoon.
