Scholarships available for Sky Ranch camp

Once again the Star Creek Ranch in Thorndale owned by The Sue Gove Family is offering 30 scholarships for Sky Ranch in Van, Texas. This is a nondenominational Christian camp that teaches leadership skills along with helping children to cope with everyday challenges, according to spokesperson Cheryl Schneider.

The children chosen will get to spend a week of f un and fellowship at the camp. There are a number of water sports to enjoy, along with group campfires and field games. They will also have quiet time to ref lect on what they had learned that day.

The children are to write an essay on “How do I show and tell the love of Jesus.” This needs to be in the child’s handwriting and in their own words, Schneider said. There is no requirement on length and it can be typed. Children ages six to 16 are eligible to attend.

If you would like more informat ion, contact Richard or Cheryl Schneider at 512-898- 1800 or 512-898-2692 or go online at www.skyranch.com to view the camp.

Applications must be submitted to the Schneiders by Monday, Jan. 11. No applications will be accepted after this date.
