Rockdale Christian sets candlelight event

Friendship Baptist sets 5th Wednesday singing
Friendship Baptist Church, located seven miles south of Milano on TX 36, will hold a “Fifth Wednesday Singing” on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m., according to spokesperson Vanessa Stracener. “All are invited to attend,” she said.
St. John’s candlelight Christmas Eve service
St. John’s United Methodist Church, Summit at Hillcrest, will hold its annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Thursday. “The public is cordially invited,” Rev. John Warren, pastor, said.
‘Dollar Days’ at RCS through December
Heavenly Treasures Thrif t Store is not having it’s monthly “Bag Sale” during December, spokesperson Rachel Lopez said. Instead, there are “Dollar Days” every Wednesday when hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m..
“Dollar Days” means all clothing and other merchandise can be purchased for $1 per item, Lopez said.
The store is located at 233 N. Main Street in Rockdale. Regular store hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. “We gladly accept donations on any of those days,” Lopez said. Preacher’s Fishing Hole offers free gifts
“If anyone cannot afford a Christmas present for someone, even themselves, they are invited to come by The Country Preacher’s Fishing Hole and we will give the gift to you free,” Rev. Leslie Adams has announced.
“Any child who comes by with a parent can pick a gift from under the Christmas Tree,” he said.
The Fishing Hole is a mile from Rockdale on South FM 487, at Calvary Baptist Church.
St. Joseph’s Ladies
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Ladies Society helped 15 residents at Manor Oaks Nursing Center play bingo Monday and provided them with prizes of food items and stuffed toys.
Helpers were Lillian Krenek, Jo Ann Miller, Helen Zapata, Vivian Yezak, Carolyn Dubey, Georgie Kerlin, Nettilee Korenek, Patsy David and her two granddaughters. Next bingo will be Jan. 18.
Bible College classes
Grace Vineyard Ministries is making available to this area Andrew Wommack’s Charis Bible College one-year correspondence course. Men’s breakfast Jan. 12
A community men’s Christian fellowship breakfast is held from 7 to 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, rotating between several local churches. Purpose is to bring men of the community together for Christian fellowship. Next breakfast will be Jan. 12 at St. John’s United Methodist. All men are invited.
