Rash of burglaries triggers warning from investigators
A rash of crimes against property in recent days—three building break-ins and two vehicle burglaries in the past week—has prompted police to ask for help from the public.

Rockdale man charged with sexual assault
A 38-year-old Rockdale area area man was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated sexual assault in connection with incidents in Cameron.
A warrant for the arrest of Jefferson Eugene Lawrence, who resides on Silver Spring Road, off FM 908 near the Burleson County line, was issued after an investigation by Cameron police. Full Story

24 indicted, 2 no-billed by Milam grand jury
Twent y-four persons were indicted Dec. 17 by a Milam County grand jury, which also returned two no-bills (declined to indict).

Fifteen draw sentences after pleas in 20th District Court
CAMERON—Fifteen persons drew sentences ranging from prison terms to probation Dec. 14 through 18 in 20th District Court.
Prosecutor Kerry Spears listed case dispositions as follows:
• Marcella McMeans, 52, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to theft of a firearm, three years deferred adjudication probation, fined $500. Full Story
