Friendship Baptist 5th Wednesday Singing

Friendship Baptist Church, located seven miles south of Milano on TX 36, was to hold its “Fifth Wednesday Singing” on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m., according to spokesperson Vanessa Stracener. “All are invited to attend,” she said.

Bible College classes being offered locally

Grace Vineyard Ministries is making available to this area Andrew Wommack’s Charis Bible College one-year correspondence course. Classes will begin in January and be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at Rockdale Outreach Center. Signup deadline is Jan. 10. Call Gunar or Shirley Gerthe at 446-3003 or 512-496-7769.

Women on Mission hold monthly study

Women on Mission of First Baptist Church met Dec. 16 for a Bible study taught by Dr. Lucile Estell, about Esther’s reign as queen. Sally Brumbelow presented the prayer calendar and offered prayer for Southern Baptist missionaries around the world.

Others attending were Mary Lois Morgan, Faye Simpson, Elaine Simpson, Ramona Barlow, Myrtle Love, Barbara Clark and Jane Robinson.

Men’s breakfast Jan. 12 at St. John’s UMC

A community men’s Christian fellowship breakfast is held from 7 to 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, rotating between several local churches. Purpose is to bring men of the community together for Christian fellowship. Next breakfast will be Jan. 12 at St. John’s United Methodist. All men are invited.

Presbyterian cookbook Vol. II now on sale

Women of First Presbyterian Church (WOC) are selling Volume II of their A Taste of Heaven cookbook. If interested in purchasing a book for $8, call Sara Bandy, 446-3332. Proceeds will be placed in the special needs account.
