Local hero

Martha Morr Martha Morr Our Local Hero this week is Martha Morr.

Martha graduated from RHS, left town to go to college and then in 1975 moved back to Rockdale.

She is an important part of First Baptist Church and very involved with the Bethany Sunday School Class.

“The ladies in the class are very special,” she said. “They are the backbone of the church and of Rockdale as well. These ladies were teachers and leaders of the community and I am privileged to be a part of their lives.”

Martha feels her part is to love them and help them in any way they may need help.

She is appreciated for her willingness to support them in whatever way they may need, from taking meals to them to visiting them.

This is definitely a labor of love for Martha and she said, “I’m there when someone needs me.”

She is ready to help family and friends. We appreciate Martha for her kind and willing spirit.

We also appreciate El Torito Mexican Restaurant and Love’s Flowers & Gifts for the gifts they provide our Local Hero each week.

If you would like to nominate a local hero, those who work selflessly for our community, call the Chamber of Commerce at 446- 2030. This honor will be given to people who work hard to make our community better.—Denice Doss, Chamber president
