New Years Resolutions: Fact or Fiction?

Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions yet? I have jotted down a few of mine to help you get inspired!

I resolve to take better care of my self. Take time for myself, smell the roses. Develop a more stable personal beauty regime. I vow to always keep my toenails clipped and painted, legs shaved, body loofahed and lotioned and take my make-up off every night, brush my teeth and FLOSS!!!!!

I’m going to perform a beauty mask ritual and start steaming my face and using herbs and natural junk.

I will do a “satin hands and feet” treatment every night and wear cotton gloves and socks to bed. My husband will love that one.

I plan on getting my nails professionally done regularly. I will treat myself to a pedicure and a massage. Get my hair trimmed on a set schedule and I will keep it nicely styled every day.

I vow to keep it “enhanced” so that the black line of new growth doesn’t show up on the top of my head, and I will make appointments in advance since my stylist is harder to get in to see than the Wizard of Oz.

I vow to keep those black hairs that grow out of my chin plucked out and my unibrow waxed into two separate ones.

I am going to start keeping my house clean and tidy everyday and make my bed, even if someone is still in it.

I am going to decorate my whole house really cute and devote one room per month and completely redo it. I got this one from Better Housekeeping while I was in the waiting room at my doctor’s appointment.

Whatever! (They should have a beginner’s magazine; it could be called Start Housekeeping.)

I will iron my clothes regularly so that I always have a week’s worth of clean, pressed clothes hanging in my closet at all times.

I would vow to do the same for my husband but I’m afraid his heart might not be able to take it.

Nutrition is a big one. I vow to go to the grocery store more regularly and cook nutritious meals for my family. I will actually read one or two of the healthy cookbooks that I have bought, not just the Paula Deen ones. That can be another one, I will read more books.

I plan to exercise at least 5 days per week, maybe even twice a day.

And last but not least…my New Years gift to the world…I will get real.

Life is too short. There is not enough time in the day to do all this stuff and work full time.

I count my blessings if I remember to take my hormone everyday.

Be nice. Think about how others may be feeling. Do unto others, you know the rest.

Hug your entire family as often as you can.

Rejoice whenever possible! And have a great 2010!

Happy New Year!
