Chamber will sponsor New Year’s Eve dance
Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a New Year’s Eve dance from 6 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at the KC Hall on East US 79.
Denice Doss, Chamber president, said a catered meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. provided by Touch of Elegance. The 80’s band “Roman Holiday” will begin playing music at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $125 per couple ($75 for a single) and are good for the catered meal, eight drink coupons, snacks throughout the evening and hats and noise-makers at midnight.
A special hotel package is available for $200 and includes all of the above plus pickup to and from the hotel and a $50 hotel coupon.
Tickets may be purchased by calling 446-2030 or in person at the Chamber office. Visa and MasterCard will be accepted.
M.A.R.C. Run meeting set Jan. 2
The ninth annual M.A.R.C. Run has began organizing and will hold a planning meeting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at The Ranch in Rockdale, according to spokesperson Charles Starr.
“We will be there discussing things till about 6:30 or 7,” Starr said. Anyone that would like to help plan and organize this year’s run are encouraged to attend. If you want to help but are unable to attend please notify one of the following people so they have a better idea of how many people are going to be able to help get things together this year.

Relay University signup under way
It’s time for Relay University and all Relay For Life of Milam Count y commit tee members and team captains should sign up by Friday, Jan. 8, according to communications chair Marie Bakken.
Relay University is a fun-filled day of learning and networking with other Relay For Life volunteers in Central Texas. “You will be provided with very practical and applicable information that you can take back to your community and use to make your Relay For Life event a success,” Bakken said.
