Late comeback bid stops chances for win
The Rockdale Lady Tigers missed out on a golden opportunity to record their first league victory of the season, but a late comeback bid by Caldwell was successful in a 28-25 loss to the Lady Hornets in the new Tiger Gymnasium Friday night.

Eagles look sharp with district on the horizon
The Milano boys basketball team finished up pre-district play over the week with two wins and will open up District 27-A league play on Friday as they host Bartlett.
It was a bit of travel on Tuesday night as the Eagles went to play Waco Texas Christian Academy.

Lady Bulldogs aiming for sixth straight title
The No. 20 Thorndale Lady Dogs got rolling on what they hope will be their sixth consecutive district title with wins over rival Thrall and Bartlett in 27-A play.

After last year’s wildly successful debut, Rockdale baseball coach Jarad Richards is organizing another alumni scrimmage between any ex-baseball player from Rockdale High School and the 2010 Tiger varsity. Full Story

Karl selected as outstanding boxer
HOUSTON—Ryan Karl of the Cowboy Boxing Club of Cameron, defeated Reggie Harrison, 23, of the Ultimate Warriors Boxing Club, in the 152-pound open weight division of the South Texas Amateur Boxing Association.
Karl, 18 and a Milano High School senior, was also selected as the Outstanding Boxer of the competition. Full Story
Golf tourney to raise funds for Rising Star construction
Rising Star Baptist Church has scheduled its annual Golf Classic at Blackhawk Golf Course, in Pflugerville, on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m.
A free barbecue meal for participants will start at 11:30 a.m. Prizes will include trophies for the winning team and individual trophies, eight free rounds of golf, and more. Full Story
