NO FLASHY RED CARDINAL No, this cardinal was going for a different look. A rare albino cardinal was hatched in the spring on land near the Lisa Coldiron residence on CR 327. Coldiron said she hadn’t spotted him since he was born but he recently showd up at a feeder in the Coldirons’ front yard. This cardinal is a “partial albino,” with some coloring, but there are also “full albino” birds that are completely white. Without pigments in the eyes, some albino birds can become blind at a young age and not live a very long life. This one, though, appeared to be enjoying a meal with a friend.
