Rodgers

Graveside services for Amanda Rodgers, 76, of Rockdale were held Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Forest Grove Cemetery in the Forest Grove community with Rev. Brandon Navarre officiating.

Surrounded by family and friends, Mrs. Rodgers died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale after battling Alzheimer’s.

A Rockdale resident for most of her life, she was born July 11, 1933, in Lexington to Albert E. Biehle Sr. and Amanda Mae (Poston) Biehle.

She married Billie Warren Rodgers on May 13, 1950, in Lexington.

Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker and beautician with Clairol as an instructor’s assistant for her husband.

She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 6525 and was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church.

Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Rodgers, on Nov. 26, 1975; her parents; four brothers, Herbert, Albert E. Jr., T.J. and Douglas Biehle; a sister, Ruby Forester; her mother-in-law and stepfather-inlaw, Andy and Joyce Milano; and her father-in-law, Bethel Rodgers.

Survivors are three daughters, Joyce Marie Hurt and husband Ray, Janet Staub, and Debra Kay Bennett and husband Rusty, all of Rockdale; two sisters, Clara Kaiser of Lexington, Tennie Crim of Caldwell; five grandchildren, Kim Suits and husband Joel, Billy Bennett and wife LouAnn, Donny Bennett, Crystal Taylor and Cody Hurt, all of Rockdale; and four great-grandchildren, Michaela Bennett, Kayrinn Taylor, Destinee Bennett and Ellis Suits, all of Rockdale.
