School board to meet
Thursday on facilities
Rockdale ISD trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Central Administration Building to discuss facilities and maintenance.
Dr. Howell Wright, superintendent, said trustees will discuss the status of Rockdale ISD facilities and future maintenance needs.
Two action items are on Thursday’s agenda, purchase of a webbased management system and budget amendments.
Development district
awaiting first funding
Rockdale Municipal Development District met Thursday at City Hall in what City Manager Kelvin Knauf called a discussion session.
“The board really can’t do much on anything until it has some funds to work with,” Knauf said. “And the first check from the state won’t be received until March.”
Tickets for RVFD party
to go on sale Feb. 15
Tickets for the annual Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department fund-raiser will go on sale Feb. 15, Mike Korenek, spokesman, has announced.
The event will be held April 24 at the KC Hall. Tickets will first be sold to those who have attended previous fund-raisers and those on a waiting list.
Top prize w ill be $10,000, Korenek said.
