Congressman thanked on jobs grant response

Dear editor,

In response to last week’s letter about Representative John Carter awarding the Stimulus Grant in Rockdale.

Thank you Representative John Carter for your assistance in helping the needy Alcoa, employees when that plant closed.

Your response was timely and was needed.

During a Rockdale town meeting, those people, both Democrats and Republicans, cried out for help and you listened.

No, Congressman Carter did not author the stimulus programs that have been developed, but what he did do was inquire of funds available to help re-train individuals out of work.

What Representative Carter did was help those who needed help get the help.

He listened to those back in his home state and responded. The result came in $2.5 million grant to an area with 10 percent unemployment.

Representative Carter served the people who elected him to his position in Washington.

Job well done! Joy Graham 114 East Cameron Avenue Rockdale
