RISD helped family find college success

Dear editor,

I read Dolores Beran’s letter criticizing the school district in the paper (Jan. 14 edition). I have had five daughters graduate from Rockdale High School.

If the girls did not understand something, the teacher was nice enough to keep them after class to help them.

Daughter No. 1 has a master’s from Huston-Tillotson.

Daughter No. 2 has a degree from McClennan Community College and is still going to Texas A&M.

Daughter No. 3 finshed at Seattle Community College.

Daughter No. 4 graduated from Blinn College and Sam Houston State University.

Daughter No. 5 graduated from RHS in May, 2009 and she is now in Blinn College and wants to be a lawyer.

My girls were told that you can be any thing you want to be. Retired Superintendent Walter Pond would take the time to talk to you about anything. I am sure the new superintendent will do same.
