More than 300 people crowded the KC Hall Saturday night to honor those who put their lives on the line to protect Rockdale.
Literally. Lt. J. D. Newlin reminded the fourth annual Officer of the Year Banquet this was a year in which a Rockdale officer was fired upon.

Branson’s Plummer Family to bring show to Lexington
All the way from Branson, Missouri, the Plummer Family Country Music Show is coming to Lexington.
Lexington EMS will present the Plummer Family on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Lexington Elementary School. Show time is set for 7 p.m. with advance tickets available for $10 (adults) and $5 (under 12). Tickets will be slightly higher at the door. Full Story
Railsback-Shoemake vows said in historic church
Kristy Elaine Railsback and K irby C eph Shoema ke were united in holy matrimony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the historic Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Norse. Rev. Jane Mar officiated the doublering ceremony.

Annual MVFD chili supper, silent auction set Saturday

Milano Volunteer Fire Depar tment’s annual chili supper and silent auction is set for Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Milano Civic Center. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. until sold out. Prices for the meal are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. There will also be a silent auction. Full Story
Cameron Masons set fish fry for Feb. 13
CAMERON—San Andres Masonic Lodge 170 in Cameron will hold its sixth annual fish fry lunch Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bea’s Kitchen, across from the courthouse.
