Simecek

CAMERON—Funeral services for Alfred Anton Simecek, 86, of Temple, formerly of Cameron, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Burial will follow in Little River Cemetery near Maysfield.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the funeral home.

Mr. Simecek died Monday, Feb. 1, in Temple.

He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Fort Worth to Charles and Frances Johec Simecek.

Mr. Simecek was a retired nurses aide from the V.A. Hospital.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Simecek was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Simecek, in 2001.

Survivors are three sons, Dennis Simecek of Morgan’s Point, Karel Simecek of Temple, Tim Simecek of Austin; and a brother, Joe Simecek of Temple; also, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
