Wheeler

CAMERON—Funeral services for Beverley Wheeler, 70, of Cameron were held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Marek-Burns-Lay well Funeral Home with Carl Michael Morris and Don Sims officiating. Burial followed in Walkers Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheeler died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at her home.

A retired homemaker, she was born July 24, 1939, in Galveston to Oklahoma and Vergie Edith (Teeple) Rice.

She married James C. Wheeler.

Mrs. Wheeler was a past member of Cameron Lions Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Democratic Committee and had been a longtime supporter and volunteer with the American Cancer Society, Brenham State School and the Shriners.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Wheeler of Cameron; a son, James C. Wheeler of Brenham; three daughters, Toni Wheeler Gabriel and husband Nick of Lexington, Mandy Wheeler Roberts and husband William, Peggy Wheeler Lanford and husband Norman, all of Cameron; a brother, Michael Rice of Buckholts; and a sister, Freda Fatheree of Rockdale; also, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Brenham State School V.S., P.O. Box 161, Brenham, TX 77833; the Ben Arnold Cemetery Association; or the Walkers Creek Cemetery Association.
