Ducks take a flyer when it comes to playing rival Rockdale
Rockdale will always be tethered to Taylor and Cameron for obvious reasons no matter what the circumstances, but for the first time since 1993, neither rival will be included in a district with the Tigers.
The last time that happened was in 1953.
This may be the first time that Rockdale and Taylor have been in the same classification and not in the same district. Full Story

While Rockdale eased into the University Interscholastic League’s bi-annual realignment Monday like a warm bath, several area schools were hit in the face with ice cold water.
While Cameron slipped down to Class 2A as expected, in a bit of a surprise, Thorndale found itself rising to Class 2A and in the same basketball district as the Yoemen (see separate story below). Full Story

The No. 24 Milano Eagles basketball team finished up the first round of District 27A play undefeated on Friday night against Granger and began the second round on Tuesday with a 46-36 road win over Bartlett. Full Story
Lady Dogs remain perfect in district competition
Have clinched at least a share of fifth consecutive league championship
With just two district games left, the No. 13 Thorndale Lady Dogs have clinched at least a share of the District 27-A title.
It would be the fifth consecutive loops title for Thorndale and seventh in the last eight seasons.
The Lady Dogs are now 8-0 in league play and 22-4 on the season. Full Story
Lady Tigers drop a pair in district
The Rockdale Lady Tigers dropped a pair of district contests to fall to 5-23 overall and 1-10 in District 24-3A with one game remaining in the season.
The Lady Tigers lost to Caldwell 24-21 on the road Tuesday night as Ivory Douglas (eight steals) and Brittany Frei (seven rebounds) each scored six points, followed by Janeene Maloy’s five points. Full Story
