Warm up your Valentine with a local present

We are entering the Love Month and what better time to tell your honey how much they mean in your life. Everyone needs to hear it sometime so don’t take it for granted that “they know.”

And what better time to show that devotion than some little remembrance to your sweetie. It doesn’t have to be a big item but a well thought out gift means so much.

Flowers, candy, a meal out, tools for that favorite guy—whatever it is, don’t miss the opportunity to tell them you love them. And, of course, you can find that perfect item in Rockdale.

Ribbon cutting

This week we have a ribbon cutting for B and Z Sound Pros with owners Bobby Buchanan and Zach Gallop. It will be at the Chamber at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. Come out and welcome Zach and Bobby to the Chamber.

That same day is the Chamber Board meeting at 12-noon at the Kountry Inn Meeting Room and of course the membership is invited to attend.

Vintage fashions

Saturday, March 13 the Rockdale Historical Society will host a unique display at the Depot.

Vintage Fashions will be on display from 1-5 p.m. featuring fashions from various eras. What a great idea and display! There have been several donations of clothing made to the effort and it will be a fabulous exhibit.

Lions pancake supper

Tuesday Feb. 16 is the Lions’ Club Pancake Supper from 5-7 p.m. at the Intermediate School. Tickets are available at the Chamber but you can also buy them at the door. Come out and support the Lions’ Club as they raise money for scholarships and other projects in the community.

Packets for promotion

The Chamber is putting Newcomers’ packets together and we need information about your business. If you would like to put in coupons, discounts or just a flyer about your business it will be a great way to promote your services to the newcomers. Bring it by the Chamber.

We are also working on the backpacks for the students coming for the Baseball/Softball Bell Rivals Tournament. If you would like to put something in the backpack for these 330 high school students (and their parents) coming to Milam County let me know.

We need your items by Feb. 22. We want to give them plenty of shopping opportunities while they are in the county. Don’t miss this chance to market your business.
