New businesses an encouraging sign for our town

On Thursday Feb. 18, we will hold a ribbon cutting for Blue Willow Children’s Academy, located at 225 Estelle St.

The owner, Rusty Gregory, says this is a licensed, certified child development center and serves pre-school 3-5 years old.

They are open 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and serve breakfast, two snacks and lunch.

Ace Plumbing

We also have a ribbon cutting for Ace Plumbing, owner Martin Gutierrez on Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. at their location at 129 W. Cameron.

Ace Plumbing services residential and commercial as well as new construction, septic tanks, remodels. They also provide porta potties, Bobcat services and leveling.

Crecon ribbon cutting

A third ribbon cutting for

Crecon, owner Dusty Creek is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at their location at 101 E. Bell (corner of Bell and Main).

Crecon provides full service pest control and lawn service with mowing and fertilizing and a full line of do-it-yourself products. Call Dusty at 446-7873 for more details on Crecon.

New restaurants

We have two new restaurants that have opened up in town.

Lee’s Landing at 313 W. Cameron with owner, Lee Parsley specializes in cat fish and chicken fried steak.

Rockdale Roadhouse with owners, Lori Baggerly and Angel Drummond, located at 379 N. Hwy 77 in the old Crossroads Restaurant location, has a menu that includes steak and all the trimmings.

Go out to eat at Lee’s Landing and Rockdale Roadhouse and see if you don’t agree that they are quite an asset to Rockdale.

As we continue to have new businesses open in Rockdale it is very encouraging that we are indeed going forward. This is a great town and people who live here appreciate that.

We have great people who take care of each other and we are blessed with the caring spirit of our citizens. I am glad to be a part of this community. I hope you are too.
