Bridges Bridges GE ORGET Memorial services for Faye Elizabeth Bridges, 100, of Austin, formerly of Jarrell, were held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in the chapel of C o ok-Wa lde n Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown with Bro. Greg Spears officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held prior to the memorial service.

Burial was in Corn Hill Cemetery outside of Jarrell.

Mrs. Bridges died Monday, Feb. 8, at her daughter Jean’s home in Austin.

She was born July 20, 1909, in Weir to Flowers and Florence Hager Smith.

She married Lester Lee Bridges on Nov. 9, 1925, in Jarrell.

Mrs. Bridges worked and managed the school lunchroom in Jarrell for 30 years.

She spent her entire life caring for her family and friends and she was an active member of the Methodist Church in Jarrell before moving to Austin.

Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester, on March 7, 1986; a son-in-law, PeeWee, on Sept. 19, 1991; and all of her siblings.

Survivors are her daughter, Jean Poe of Austin; two granddaughters, Cheryl Chamberlain- Hill and husband Lewis of Rockdale, Scottye Poe of Prescott, Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Chasity Shaw and husband Daniel of Gause, Shane Chamberlain of Rockdale, Chally Poe of Austin; four great-great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Barcak, Drew Shaw, Danni Shaw and Cadyn Shaw; and a friend and caregiver, Steve Cloud; also, many other family members and friends.

Memorial may be made to the First Methodist Church of Jarrell.
