Fritz

Graveside services for Richard E. Fritz Jr., 77, of Montgomery were held Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale with Dr. Greg Nichols of Lexington First Christian Church officiating.

Mr. Fritz died Thursday, Feb. 11, in Memorial Herman Hospital in The Woodlands.

A Montgomery resident since 1985, he was born Jan. 18, 1933, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, to Richard E. and Margaret (McCowen) Fritz Sr.

He married Wilma Jean Davenport in 1956 at Rockdale First Christian Church.

Mr. Fritz was a 1951 graduate of Davenport High School in Davenport, Iowa, and a 1959 graduate of Lamar State University.

He served in the U.S. Army and had been a sales representative for Texaco and Continental Oil Co.

Mr. Fritz enjoyed play ing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Steven R ichard Fritz, on March 25, 1996.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Wilma Fritz of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Tony Bermea, Kimberly Graham and Jason Fritz, all of Denton; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Graham, Jaxson Graham and Braxton Bermea.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
