Winter weather will soon usher in pretty springI had the extreme pleasure of sitting on my back porch and just enjoying the 70- degree day that we had on Sunday. It was delightful and such a promise of the spring that is not too far off. The birds were singing and though everything is a beautiful shade of brown right now I know that in a month or so the green will start showing its color and the flowers will be vibrant. The rain we have had this year will guarantee that and I am anxious to see spring at its best.
But until then, even in shades of brown, you can’t go wrong with a 70-degree day. That’s the good thing about Texas, we have such a diverse temperature and we get to use all of our wardrobe, coat in the morning, shorts in the afternoon.
The 4th Annual Tejas Art and Book Festival is fast approaching and it is all coming together. I know this will be a great time and I hope you are all putting it on your calendar.
The authors will be in the schools on Friday, March 5 and then on Saturday, March 6 the big event begins. The cars will be rolling in for the car show, the authors will be in the library, the artists under the tent and pavilion at Wolf Park, activities at the I&GN Depot and the Kay Theatre.
And with Jim Hightower coming as one of our speakers, it will be exciting. Come out and shop Market Day, look at the great booths of jewelry, painting, wood work, and more.
