Pesticide applicator training, testing set

Anyone needing to obtain their Private Pesticide Applicators License, the Milam County Extension Office will be holding a Private Applicator Training and Testing on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost is $35 and includes the training materials. This event will include the required threehour training as well as an opportunity to take the test for the license from our TDA Pesticide Inspector.

Trichomoniasis rules

Milam Extension Office will hold a Cattle Trichomoniasis Regulations program for cattle producers interested in learning more about the new disease regulations.

Dr. Tom Hairgrove, DV M with Texas Agrilife Extension Service, will present on how the disease can economically affect your production, as well as the life cycle of the disease and ways to manage to prevent the spread.

Dr. Tommy Barton, DVM, area director for the Texas Animal Health Commission, will address the program testing rules and procedures, and Dr. Mac Devin, DVM, professional services vet with Boehringer Ingelheim will discuss vaccination options.

The program is sponsored by Boehringer-Ingelheim and Milano Livestock Exchange. Registration and a sponsored meal begin at 5:30 and the program will be promptly at 6. Call 254-697-7045 to sign up.
