Tiger golfers take advantage of nice weather for third in Waco

The Rockdale boys golf team made the most of the nice weather over the weekend, competing in the Marvin Dameron Golf tournament hosted by Waco Midway at Cottonwood Creek in Waco and then on Monday in College Station at the Brenham Invitational at Pebble Creek.

In Waco, the Tigers took home third place overall and finished w ith a two day total of 675, behind Beaumont Kelly (654) and Waxahachie (664).

Kirk Williams also placed third overall as a medalist with a 85- 75—159.

Senior Lance Loewe—in his first tournament since basketball finished—turned in an 85 -85—170.

Waylon Boyd had an 89-85 —174, Patrick David 91-86—177 and Tyler Wright 86-96—182

Also playing as a medalist was Braden Byrd who shot 99-103 for a two day total of 202.

In College Station, Casey Burrough carded an 85, Wright 95, Loewe 96, Garrett Korenek 103, Grant Galbreath 115.

The next tournament for the boys will be in Salado for the Big Eagle Classic on March 5-6.

On Tuesday of last week the Rockdale Girls golf team trav- elled to Cottonwood Creek to compete in the Robinson Girls Invitational.

Annie Wilde led the way with a 105, followed by McKenzie Starr 137, Caroline Wilde 138, Emily Gerlock 138.

The girls next tournament will be Thursday in Cameron at the Cameron Country Club.
