Vehicles damaged in area wrecks

DPS state troopers answered several calls to South Milam County accidents during the past week with no serious damages reported.

Trooper Erik Gaston said a two-vehicle accident was reported at 4:12 p.m. Feb. 24 on US 79 east of Rockdale.

Drivers were listed as Barbara Cook of La Grange and Tab Round Jr. of Council, Oklahoma.

Cook was taken to St. Mark’s Hospital in La Grange, according to Gaston, who said Round and passenger Donald Gaither refused treatment.

Damages were termed moderate.

Moderate damages were reported in a one-vehicle accident Feb. 24 on US 79 near the CR 329 intersection.

Driver was listed as Pedro Dominguez of Houston.

A vehicle-deer collision was reported at 6:55 p.m. Monday FM 908 near CR 429.

Driver was listed as Rosita Becker of Rockdale and damages were listed as moderate.

Several “vehicle in ditch” incidents were also reported in the morning hours of Feb. 24 with a 4-to-6-inch snowfall still on Milam roadways.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
