Unfamiliar faces meant lots of visitors here

We have just completed a most exciting event with our 4th Annual Tejas Art and Book Festival here in Rockdale.

The weather was perfect, the attendance was good and the speakers were great. We had such good volunteers out of our Milano and Rockdale students and that certainly made the day easier. The Car Show was well attended and the entertainment was top notch.

Saying thank you is not enough for those who worked so hard to make this happen but I am so appreciative of the hard work that goes into an event like this. Thankfully, people called and wanted to be involved in every aspect and that is what makes Rockdale so great.

The food booths were exceptional and the art was high quality. All in all it was a great day and if you missed it this year, put it on your calendar for next year.

I saw many familiar faces but I also saw many folks I didn’t know, which makes me feel like we had a good turnout of visitors from other communities.

This festival continues to grow and I am excited. It makes all the work worthwhile.

Until next time I leave you with this: The important thing is to take that first step.
