‘True Grit’ remake filming in Granger

Rooster is back.

If you’re a fan of the 1969 classic western “True Grit,” starring John Wayne, you know who that is.

The film is being remade in the neadby town of Granger.

The remake, by the highly successful Coen brothers, stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Hailee Stanfield.

It is said to be more faithful to Charles Portis’ novel than to the classic film which won the legendary Wayne his only Academy Award for his Rooster Cogburn role.
