Keen

Services for Della May Keen, 94, of the Forest Grove community were held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Forest Grove Christian Church with Jim Platt and Brandon Navarre officiating. Interment followed in Keen Cemetery.

Mrs. Keen died Saturday, March 6, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was born May 31, 1915, in Rockdale to Ernest H. and Bertha “Betty” (Backhaus) Noack.

She married Lawrence L. Keen on Feb. 1, 1941, in Rockdale.

Mrs. Keen was a graduate of Rockdale High School and a member of Forest Grove Christian Church.

She had been a homemaker and baby sitter and had worked in the fields and at Strickers in Rockdale before her marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Keen; a brother, Earl Noack; three sisters, Pearl Holley, Ruby Whiteley and Emma Bertha VonGonten; her parents, Ernest H. Noack and Bertha (Betty) Backhaus; and her stepmother, Leona Brockenbush Noack.

Survivors are two daughters, Linda L. Platt and husband Jim, Glenna M. Lynn, all of Forest Grove; a brother, Leon F. Noack and wife Billie of Rockdale; a sister, Helen Perry of Rockdale; and five grandchildren, Creighton Lynn and wife Jamie of Taylor, Julie Martin and husband Christopher of Austin, Dawn Shriver and husband Tommy of Pettibone, Melinda Lynn, Ken Jones and Laurie Platt, all of Forest Grove; also, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Alan Noack, Steve Noack, Jeff Noack, Jimmy Keen, Wayne Holliman and Otto Kemper.
