CAMERON—Funeral services for Thomas Robert Strmiska, 51, of Buckholts were held Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. Walter Matus and Msgr. Isodore Rozycki offi- ciating. Burial followed in Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery.
Rosary was recited on Friday, March 5, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Mr. Strmiska died Tuesday, March 2, in a Temple hospital.
A musician and customer accounts manager for Butler Weldments in Cameron, he was born Nov. 24, 1958, in Taylor to George and Mary Ann (Knapeck) Strmiska.
He married Cindy Vrazel on June 25, 1983.
Mr. Strmiska was a member of the Vrazel Polka Band for over 35 years.
He was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catho- lic Church where he served in many capacities, including vicepresident of the church council, Eucharist minister and serving on the building committee.
Mr. Strmiska also had served on the school board of Holy Trinity Catholic High School.
He was a member of the KJT Lodge No. 28 in Granger, St. Isodore No. 10186 A ssembly Knights of Columbus at Cyclone and Marak and a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member of the Patrick J. O’Riley Assembly No. 1138.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Strmiska of Buckholts; a son, Matthew Strmiska of Austin; a daughter, Jessica Strmiska of Georgetown; his mother, Mary Ann Strmiska of Granger; six brothers, Patrick Strmiska of Georgetown, Stephen Strmiska of Pflugerville, George Strmiska Jr. and Joseph Strmiska, both of Granger, James Strmiska of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Bernard Strmiska of Round Rock; a sister Therese Strmiska of Granger; and his father and mother-in-law, Alfred Bernice Vrazel of Buckholts.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Temple or Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and/or Cemetery.
