We continue to get great comments about our Tejas Festival and plans will begin soon for the next festival of 2011. We have a great committee and it takes a lot of work but when it turns out as well as it did, it is worth all of the work.

‘Back to Work’ program offers employer incentive
Texas employers can receive monetary incentives for hiring unemployed workers under a two-year, $15 million program, according to Tom Pauken, Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) chairman.

Relay For Life of Milam County received a generous sponsorship from local law firm Cappolino, Dodd & Krebs LLC last week. Gerry Heitmann presented the $1,000 check to event co-chair Kim Jeter. Full Story
Luminant panel gets update on mine, power plant work
An audience of Luminant Community Advisor y Panel members and facility neighbors guaranteed a variety of questions when the group met at the Luminant Three Oaks Mine offices in February. Updates on the power plants and mine led to discussion about water, the weather, and the value of coal. Full Story
Thorndale Chamber sets first car show
Thor nda le A rea Chamber of Commerce (TACC) finalized plans for the First Annual Car Show, and an Airing of the Quilts and Arts & Crafts Fair to be held on Saturday, March 27, in downtown Thorndale on FM 486 South.
