March is ‘Clean Up Month’; let’s all do our partWe continue to get great comments about our Tejas Festival and plans will begin soon for the next festival of 2011. We have a great committee and it takes a lot of work but when it turns out as well as it did, it is worth all of the work.
This week we have a ribbon cutting for Rockdale Roadhouse on Hwy 77 at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17. Come out and join the ribbon cutting and stay for lunch that day.
We are working on the Chamber Banquet scheduled for Thursday, March 25 at the Junior High Commons. We have tickets on sale at the Chamber.

We will award our winners for Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Citizen, Organization of the Year, Business of the Year and Ambassador of the Year. Call for your tickets today.
Clean it up!
March has been named Cleanup Month by the City Council and I hope you take this chance to get your place spruced up.
Also on Saturday, March 27 there will be a city wide effort to help with the cleanup. If you would like to provide a trailer and pickup to pick up brush around town that Saturday for those who can’t haul it away call the Chamber. There will also be a place for you to take your old refrigerators and thanks to Climate Control they will again de-freon your refrigerator.
It is a great project when everyone works together. Hopefully we will also have some crews picking up trash around town.
If you would like to help call the Chamber and let us know and if you need help, also call the Chamber and we’ll get you on a list for pickup that Saturday. And as has become a tradition, the county will provide rolloffs at the city barn also so that out-of-towners can bring their trash that day as well.
Until next time I leave you with this: Success should not go to head and failure should not go to heart.
