Flying a kite brings joy, some hurt
I did something over the weekend I hadn’t done in years...fly a kite. (OK Mike Brown...stop laughing.) With beautiful weather over the weekend and my two young children having cabin fever from this long, cold, drizzly winter I decided to buy some kites while out shopping on Saturday to use Sunday afternoon if the weather permitted. Art, science highlight public school week
RJH winners listed from two events
Art and science moved to center stage last week at Rockdale Junior High School as part of Texas Public Schools Week.
A total of 160 pieces of artwork were on display throughout RJH during the week, according to instructor Lani Young.
About 120 students in grades 6-8 competed in the annual Science Family Night events.

Our Local Hero this week is Bailey Wallace.
Bailey is an 11-year-old sixthgrader and she visits the residents at The Renaissance Villa. She said she started going when her grandmother was in there and she became a regular to paint the ladies’ nails, brush their hair and read to them. MARC Run, cycle fund-raiser, slated April 10 at Ranch
The 9th Annual MARC RUN will be held April 10 at The Ranch 415 W. US 79, in Rockdale with all proceeds going to the Milam Association for Retarded Citizens, a 501C3 non-profit that assists people of Milam County that have physical or mental disabilities. Full Story
