Annual celebration Sunday

A reminder that Stephen Chapel AME Church will have its 36th annual Family, Friends and Church Celebration starting at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21. Rev. Linda Wa llace is pastor and g uest speaker will be Rev. Washington from Hubbard.

Several members of the Gause 4-H Club will show their animals at the Milam Count y Junior Livestock Show in Cameron next week. Also, some Gause 4-H members will have artwork in the home economics division of the show. Our best wishes to all of these youth.

Gau se 4-H C lub member s Kristian Lee, Kendall Lee, Connelly Cooper and Cameron Cooper participated in a State Archery Meet in Bay City during the weekend. Attending with them were Kim Lee, Chris and Kelly Cooper, Kristi Lee and Jaxon Hayles.

Lois Wilkins spent several days last week in LaPorte with children and grandchildren. On Saturday evening they attended the wedding of granddaughter Holly Wilkins and Roy Faris in Orange. Holly is the daughter of J.D. and Rita Wilkins. Wanda and Alfred Coats and great grandmother of the bride, Mildred Bowling, along with Sherri and James Rasco, also attended the wedding.

The weather has really been nice for spring break. I’ve heard several tell of their plans for the week and hope they all have a great time. Saturday, March 20 is the official beginning of Spring.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
