FIRST PEEKS OF SPRING

Just weeks after Rockdale’s first significant snowfall in years, signs of spring are bursting forth throughout the area only a day after spring “officially” began.

Wildflower displays are predicted to be beautiful this year after plentiful spring rains.

Those will include (top, L-R) the iconic Texas Bluebonnet, and red Indian Paintbrush, as well as these pink and white first bloomers spotted in the Milam Master Gardener’s butterfly garden at Veterans Memorial Park.

Redbud trees are in full bloom, creating a beautiful display of pink to purple flowers.

Below, the setting sun created a yellowish hue through these early oak leaves, and oak pollen, that is currently falling.
