Arrest clears local burglary

Rockdale police said a burglary at a local motel has been cleared with Thursday’s arrest of a 34- year-old Milano man.

Zachary Zane Zawadzke was charged with burglary of a building and was released after posting $20,000 bond.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said the arrest was in connection with the breakin of a storage building at the Regency Inn in which an air conditioner was taken.

The arrest was made after an investigation by Ofc. S. A. Smith.

Counterfeit

James Rodney Holt, 45, of Spicewood, was arrested Sunday after an investigation by Ofc. Bryan Lightfoot and charged with forgery of a government instrument, money or security.

Holt was released after posting $20,000 bond. Newlin said the investigation was started after counterfeit $5 bills were passed at Cliff’s Tavern.

Incidents

Police are investigating a burglary of a Sand Oak Street residence and are looking into an incident in which a pistol was stolen from a pickup,” he said.

One arrest was made after an investigation into a report that a city water meter had been bypassed.

Newlin said Lightfoot made an arrest after a foot chase resulting from a DWI stop.

Accidents

No injuries were reported in two wrecks. police said.

A pickup driven by Robert Pelzel and a car operated by Hannah Streck, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 4:29 p.m. Thursday on US 79 near the Calhoun Street intersection, according to police.

A 7:02 p.m. Friday an accident was reported at US 79 and Oak Park 4, according to police. Drivers were listed as Brent Stutts and Hillary Zoeller, both of Rockdale.
