Two arrested on felony pot charges by DPS, deputies

Two Burling ton men were arrested last week for felony marijuana possession after the Department of Public Safety and Milam County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at a Ben Arnold home.

Christopher Beckmann, 21, and Aaron Lee Bertram, 27, were charged with possession of marijuana (4 ounces to 5 pounds) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were released after posting $1,500 bond each and paying $250 fines.

DPS Sgt. Michael Nix said Trooper Erik Gaston, acting on a tip, executed a search warrant, along with deputies. just before midnight March 24.

Authorities said they confiscated a six-foot plant, other growing items, several pods and smaller plants and “grow lights.”
