Big Blue Band earns Division I ratings
Rockdale High School’s Big Blue Band earned Division I (Superior) ratings Tuesday in pre-UIL concert and sight reading competition at McGregor High School.
Director Joe Ray said UIL contest is scheduled for April 21 and the band will compete in a Houston festival in May. Full Story
TAKS tests continue next week for students
Fifth and eighth grade students in Rockdale ISD will continue with the 2010 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) exams in early April, according to district testing coordinator Cathy Ormsby. Full Story

This week’s RHS Student of the Week is freshman Lisa Vest. The daughter of Becky Vest and Travis Conner, she was nominated by science teacher David Smiley, who believes that she is one of the most congenial students on campus. Vest is active in RHS volleyball, basketball, softball and tennis and is a member of the students council and Golden Girls. Full Story
