Early voting starts for GOP runoffs

Early voting for two April 13 Republican Primary runoff elections gets under way Monday, April 5, in four locations throughout the county.

Debra L ehmann and R ick Green are v ying for the GOP nomination as Supreme Court Justice, Place 3.

The winner faces Democrat Jim Sharp for the seat being vacated by Harriet O’Neill.

Marsha Farney and Brian Russell are candidates for District 10 State Board of Education.

The winner faces Democrat Judy Jennings in the general election.

Persons who voted in the March 2 Republican Primary, or who did not vote in either party’s primary March 2 are eligible to vote in the GOP runoff.

There are no Democratic Party runoffs.

Sherry Mueck, county election clerk, listed the early voting schedule as follows:

Rockdale City Hall— April 5-9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Milam County C office, Cameron— April 5-9, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thorndale ISD Administration Building— April 5-9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Precinct 1 Commissioner’s office, Buckholts— April 5-8, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; April 9, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
