Blakely

GAUSE—A funeral service for Oliver Roy “Sonny” Blakely, 66, of Gause was held Monday, March 29, 2010, at Gause Full Gospel Church in Gause with Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial was at Milano Cemetery in Milano.

Mr. Blakely died Friday, March 26, at his home in Gause.

He was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Gause to Mardies Oliver Blakely and Agnes Denman Blakely.

Mr. Blakely worked as a tin smelter foreman for Gulf Chemical.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Blake Blakely; a brother, Bill Blakely Sr.; and a sister, Merle Watkins.

Survivors are a son and daughter in-law, James and Kimberly Blakely of Gause; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Lynn and Tom Dunn of Bedford, Linda and Elvis Smith of Milano; two sisters, Mildred Simmons of Gause, Margaret Evans of Antlers, Oklahoma; and his girlfriend, Ida of Gause; also, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
