Tigers take third straight track meet title
LEXINGTON—It seems the better the competition, the more they like it.
The Rockdale track team reeled off its third straight meet victory by outscoring rival Cameron 152-114 with another healthy dose of field event prowess with some running events sprinkled on top.

The Rockdale Youth Baseball League threw out its first pitch Saturday on a perfect day for baseball and at the same time introduced a complete overhaul of team names which borrowed the most unusual mascots from minor league teams all over the country. Full Story

Blue tops off first half of district with two losses
Playing as if they are being paid overtime, the Rockdale Tigers have made a habit of playing extra innings.
The Tigers continued the status quo Tuesday night with an 11-inning opus but this time the extra frames resulted in a 9-8 loss to Cameron at Airport Field.
The loss drops Rockdale to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in District 24-3A after the first round of play. Full Story

Jordan twirls a one-hitter at Holland in opener
Thorndale shook off a disappointing loss to Rockdale in their final non-district tuneup by blanking Holland 8-0 Friday at Bulldog Field in the District 26A opener.
The 9-8 Bulldogs got a onehitter out of Paxton Jordan (3-1) and took advantage of six Hornet errors to secure the victory. Full Story

Lady Dogs hang up Holland with 5-4 win in last at bat
Llana drives in Knapek for huge victory
Thorndale had to use their last at bat to pull out a 5-4 district victory over Holland Friday at Lady Bulldog Field.
The Lady Dogs (4-5, 2-1) took an early 1-0 after the first inning, but the Lady Hornets rallied in the third and fourth to go up 4-1.
Thorndale managed two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap at 4-3. Full Story
