Possumhaw gets confused often with Dogwood
Growing alongside the Dogwood is a shrub-like tree that provides a spectacular display of tiny, creamy white flower clusters set in wide, stalked flower heads. While these blooms may not outshine the delicate white flowers of the Dogwood, they still evoke gasps of appreciation from onlookers. Full Story

USDA loans okayed for home energy efficiency projects
TEMPLE—The USDA Rural Development announced that Section 504 loan funds are available to qualified applicants to make their homes more energy efficient.
Loan funds may also be used to make general repairs to improve or modernize the property, as long as the dwelling remains modest. Full Story
Photo contest slated for Nature Festival
It’s the perfect time to be outside with your camera.
The El Camino Real Chapter of Master Naturalists will sponsor a Nature Photo Contest in conjunction with the Milam County Nature Festival, scheduled for June 11-12 at Wilson- Ledbetter Park in Cameron.
